The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Delta State Command, has achieved another operational milestone with the successful refurbishment of an additional vehicle to enhance field operations across the state.
The development is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the command’s logistics capacity and improve response time in carrying out its statutory duties of safeguarding lives, property, and critical national assets.
Leadership-Driven Operational Improvements
The State Commandant, Chinedu F. Igbo, disclosed that the newly refurbished vehicle is one of four operational vehicles rehabilitated since he assumed office on August 25, 2025, as the 17th substantive State Commandant of the Corps in Delta State.
According to him, the command initially faced significant operational constraints upon his assumption of duty, particularly a shortage of functional vehicles required for effective field deployment and emergency response.
He explained that the refurbishment initiative was made possible through selfless leadership, dedication to duty, and the support of well-meaning individuals committed to improving the operational effectiveness of the Corps.
Strengthening Security Response Capacity
Commandant Igbo reaffirmed his commitment to continuously improving the operational readiness of the command, noting that enhanced mobility remains critical to efficient service delivery and rapid response to security incidents across Delta State.
He emphasized that his leadership approach is guided by the professional standards and mentorship of the Commandant-General of the NSCDC, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, whose vision continues to inspire operational excellence within the Corps.
Improved Mobility for Field Operations
The refurbishment of the operational vehicle is expected to significantly improve the mobility, surveillance capacity, and response efficiency of personnel deployed across various divisions in the state.
Security analysts note that improved logistics and transportation assets remain essential in strengthening internal security architecture and ensuring effective coverage of both urban and rural communities.
Official Statement
The development was confirmed in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Command, DSC Anthony Uchenna, on behalf of the State Commandant.
