LOS ANGELES, 7 September 2026 — The Television Academy completed the second night of its 2026 Creative Arts Emmy presentations on Sunday, 6 September, with “Widow’s Bay” and “DTF St. Louis” emerging among the evening’s most visible winners.

The event, formerly branded separately as the Creative Arts Emmys, was staged over 5 and 6 September at the Peacock Theater. The Academy’s official night-two announcement confirms the results and says both nights will be edited into a programme airing on FXX on 12 September, with streaming on Hulu the following day.

The weekend is significant because it rewards the production work that audiences experience but do not always see: editing, sound, visual effects, costumes, production design, casting and other specialist disciplines. The Television Academy’s searchable winners database lists the individual recipients, while Entertainment Weekly’s winners report provides an independent summary.

For African screen industries, the broader lesson is not simply who collected a trophy. Global awards increasingly make visible the depth of the production ecosystem behind a successful series. Nigerian studios competing for international buyers need strong documentation of below-the-line talent, clear screen credits and production records that allow editors, designers, composers and technical teams to build verifiable portfolios.

The Creative Arts results also serve as a runway to the main Emmy ceremony scheduled for 14 September. Viewers should not confuse this weekend’s awards with the final primetime presentation; they are connected parts of the same awards cycle.

For EMC TV, the compelling angle is the business behind prestige television: how excellence in post-production and technical departments turns a show into an exportable global product, and why Nollywood’s next international breakthrough may depend as much on sound, editing and production design as on stars.

Editors publishing individual winner names should check the Academy database immediately before posting because consolidated totals and category labels can be updated after the live presentations.
