NSCDC Delta Assures ONSA of Full Readiness Ahead of First-Ever Crisis Response Exercise in State

ASABA – The Delta State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has reaffirmed its readiness to participate fully in the forthcoming Crisis Response Exercise organised by the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), pledging maximum cooperation to ensure the success of the programme.

The assurance was given by the Delta State Commandant, Chinedu F. Igbo, during a courtesy visit by Rear Admiral A. O. Ayo-Vaughan, Head of the Presidential Command and Control Centre under ONSA, who led an advance team to Delta State ahead of the exercise.

Speaking during the visit, Rear Admiral Ayo-Vaughan revealed that the simulation exercise will be the first of its kind to take place outside the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), describing the development as a significant milestone in Nigeria’s efforts to strengthen nationwide emergency preparedness and crisis management.

According to him, the exercise is designed to evaluate the operational readiness of security agencies in responding effectively to emergencies while assessing the level of synergy and coordination among various security organisations operating within Delta State.

He explained that the advance team’s visit was intended to brief heads of security agencies on the objectives of the exercise, outline ONSA’s expectations, and conclude the necessary logistical and operational preparations before the commencement of the programme.

In his response, Commandant Chinedu Igbo reiterated the commitment of the NSCDC Delta State Command to the successful conduct of the exercise, assuring the ONSA delegation of the Corps’ unwavering support and active participation throughout the operation.

He noted that the initiative presents another opportunity to strengthen collaboration among security agencies while enhancing collective capacity to respond swiftly and effectively to crisis situations.

The Crisis Response Exercise is expected to improve operational coordination, boost emergency response capabilities, and reinforce inter-agency cooperation in protecting lives, property, and critical national assets across Delta State.
