The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Delta State Command, has deployed 956 personnel across the state to ensure a peaceful and secure Easter celebration.
State Commandant, Chinedu Igbo, announced the deployment on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, noting that officers have been strategically stationed in key locations, including identified black spots and flashpoints, to prevent any breach of peace during the festive period.
Addressing officers ahead of the operation, the Commandant charged them to maintain professionalism and remain proactive in the discharge of their duties. He emphasized the importance of combining intelligence gathering with swift action to forestall potential security threats.
Commandant Igbo also reiterated the Corps’ commitment to protecting Critical National Assets and Infrastructure across Delta State, in line with its statutory mandate.
He further stressed the need for collaboration with other security agencies to ensure a coordinated and effective security framework throughout the Easter celebrations.
Reassuring residents, the NSCDC boss urged Deltans to go about their festivities without fear, stating that adequate security measures have been put in place to guarantee a crime-free celebration.
The statement was signed by DSC Anthony Uchenna, the Command’s Public Relations Officer.
